Bayer AG is asking a California judge to reverse the recent $2 billion dollar verdict involving their popular herbicide product Roundup. Bayer AG who bought out the developer of the product Monsanto Corp last summer, claims that the decision was not supported by real evidence.

In the article, Bayer AG released a statement that the evidence presented during the trial was based on “inflammatory, fabricated, and irrelevant evidence.” This most recent trial involving an elderly couple diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma resulted in the largest Roundup verdict to date.

Bayer AG is feeling mounting legal pressure, as over 13,000 lawsuits involving Roundup are pending against the company. With three straight trial losses, the company has experienced a loss in sales and profit, which could only continue if the company continues to find itself on the losing end in the courtroom.
