Ford F-150 Brake Lawsuit Moves Forward

A class-action lawsuit involving Ford Motors F-150 trucks is moving forward. On July 10, 2019, U.S. District Judge Gershwin A. Drain dismissed many of Ford’s attempts to derail the lawsuit, allowing Plaintiffs to file their claims.

Defective Ford F-150 Brakes

The core of the lawsuit revolves around defective brakes that were originally recalled by Ford for the 2013-2014 models. The main part of the defect revolves around the master cylinder which can lead to sudden loss of front brake function.

However, the repairs that were made, have now been found to be defective as well. The repair allows for seals within the cylinder to move around and allow for brake fluid to leak from the vehicle. As a result, this can lead to loss of braking ability as more brake fluid leaks out. The models affected now span from 2013-2018 models.

Ford Knew About Defect

Plantiffs’ legal counsel can now begin gathering evidence to support their claim that Ford Motors has had a problem with their F-150 brakes for at least six years, and knew about the problem the entire time and failed to correct course.
