In light of the recent Roundup verdict that was over $2 billion dollars, Costco has made an announcement that they will be pulling the weed killer product from shelves for the safety of consumers.
Petition Against Roundup
A petition was started by Zen Honeycutt who is the founder of the group Moms Across America according to a Yahoo News article. After making multiple attempts to get in touch with someone at Costco regarding Roundup, she did “…confirm with three people that Costco was not ordering Roundup or any glyphosate-based herbicides for the incoming spring shipments” from a post on her website.
Bayer AG Continues to Fight
Bayer AG has stated their intent to appeal the multiple verdicts, despite the fact that the company is now facing over 13,000 legal claims that allege that Roundup causes people to develop non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Removing Roundup from All Stores
Ms. Honeycutt has stated she has Change.org petitions started to ask other gardening and home improvement stores like Lowe’s and Home Depot to stop selling Roundup at their stores.
